Taylor C. Dawson
Taylor is an associate with Beresford Booth’s Litigation Group. He is an experienced trial lawyer who works to zealously represent and advocate on behalf of his clients. Taylor was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He was introduced to the legal profession at a young age when his father and uncle began a law firm together, where they represented individuals injured by the negligence of others. His uncle was permanently blinded in a motorcycle accident at age 18, and he later left the legal profession to pursue a career helping others who had been through traumatic and debilitating accidents. It was these experiences that inspired Taylor to pursue a career in the legal field to help those in need.
Prior to joining Beresford Booth, Taylor handled insurance defense claims for a Fortune 500 company. There, he represented personal and commercial policy holders in personal injury and property damage suits as well as general casualty and negligence matters, gaining valuable litigation experience. He later joined a private firm handling a mix of insurance defense cases and tort claims. He litigated matters against The State of Washington, the Department of Children, Youth and Families, and the Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration as a special assistant attorney general. He developed and sharpened his skills through these experiences, with hallmarks of meticulous attention to detail, thorough preparation, and diligent work ethic.
Taylor has managed hundreds of lawsuits, from pre-litigation through trial, including discovery, motions practice, and alternative dispute resolution, as well as post-trial motions and judgment. He has achieved favorable outcomes for clients in hundreds of civil arbitrations as well as several jury trials throughout Washington. He is excited to draw from his insurance and tort defense experience to represent clients in all forms of civil litigation.
Taylor graduated from Mercer Island High School. He was a competitive lacrosse player and continued playing throughout college. He received his undergraduate degree in English from the University of Oregon and his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. Outside of the office, Taylor loves to exercise and play sports, particularly basketball. He enjoys music, movies, and traveling, but especially loves hiking, camping and exploring new areas with his labrador-mix rescue dog named Rocky, who is very sweet but also mischievous, making him the perfect companion.
