Community Spotlight: Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, so Beresford Booth would like to take a moment to shed a community spotlight on the great work of Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center in Everett.
Background
Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides safety, justice, and healing to child victims of physical and sexual abuse, assault, and neglect. Dawson Place houses every service needed by the victims and their families to get the help they need all in one place. In their mission to help hurting kids, seek justice, and promote healthy families, they work tirelessly toward their ultimate vision of ending child abuse. Since opening in 2006, thousands of forensic interviews and medical exams have been conducted. Assisting an average of 20 new children weekly and 1,100 child abuse victims each year, Dawson Place has helped over 15,000 special children.
Every April Dawson Place hosts its “Super Kids Resource Fair.” The fair will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM at Dawson Place, located at 1509 California Street in Everett, WA. This is a free community event that is open to all. There will be games, crafts, music, food trucks, arts, prizes and more. Nearly forty (40) community organizations and agencies will be present to share their resources. Learn more here: Super Kids Resource Event – Dawson Place
Kelsey Affronte, one of Beresford Booth’s litigation attorneys, who serves on the Dawson Place Board, will be among many others volunteering at the event, and you can find her providing tours of the advocacy center. Families will receive a raffle ticket for taking the tour, giving them a chance to win a great prize, so come out, take the tour and join in the fun. If you are unable to attend, you can see the facility here: What to Expect at Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center – Tour
It has been the privilege of Beresford Booth to support the work of Dawson Place for many years. We will be sponsoring the keynote speaker again this year at their 12th Annual Hurt to Hope Luncheon which will take place on November 7, 2024, at the Angel of the Winds Event Center in Everett. Please join us in our efforts to support Dawson Place so they can help even more children by contributing here.
